The first time mentions as Lisianum, and as a rural villa Liciniana or Licinianum. Liznjan's first inhabitants came from Sinj, Poljica and Imotski and in this area they have created their first community. Over the centuries here were changing the reigns and authorities which were taking Liznjan under their rules.
